Creamfields

Creamfields usually takes place over the bank holiday weekend towards the end of August and is mostly known for being an electronic dance music festival. You can attend this festival for the whole duration and camp on-site or close by, or you can choose to attend on specific days depending on what artists or acts are headlining.

Park Life

Park Life is a festival on the outskirts of Manchester that takes place in the massive Heaton Park. It usually takes place over a weekend in early June and is full of mega headline acts covering various different genres of music. You can enjoy both days but you can’t stay on-site at the park.

Nantwich Food Festival

Nantwich food festival is a popular festival that takes place over a weekend in September. You will find live cooking demonstrations as well as stalls showcasing some of the best street food from all over the world.

Spooky World

If you love anything to do with Halloween then look no further than Spooky World. Taking place in October for Halloween in Warrington you can take younger children during the day or any brave 10-year-olds and above can enjoy the Spooky World experience at night. However, it isn’t for the faith hearted.

RHS Flower Show

Taking place in Tatton Park in Knutsford you have the annual RHS Flower Show. Enjoyed over a weekend in July you can book tickets to see some of the most incredible displays of flowers and gardens.

Aintree Grand National Festival

Every April Aintree on the outskirts of Liverpool hosts the horse racing highlight of the year has to be the Grand National. The Grand National Festival takes place over four days ending on the fourth day with the big race itself. You need to buy tickets in advance and make sure you put on your glad rags for this event, but if you love horse racing then this is the festival to attend. You can also enjoy live entertainment and a party that takes place after the racing has finished.

Christmas Markets

Christmas is a magical time, and each year there are an array of Christmas markets that you can enjoy. The Christmas markets usually have various different stalls selling anything from candles and foot items to Christmas decorations and trinkets. You can also enjoy a great selection of food and drink. In the North West of England, there are many different Christmas markets that take place. These include:

Beer Festivals

Sometimes you can’t beat a good old-fashioned beer festival and Manchester and Liverpool are two of the big cities that showcase them every year. You can find some of the best offerings below where you can sample craft beers and enjoy different options from all over the world.

• Manchester Craft Beer festival – usually takes place in the month of July.
• Manchester Oktoberfest – usually takes place in October.
• Liverpool beer festival – usually takes place around February time.

Family Festivals

There has been a huge rise when it comes to events that are family-friendly and while festivals used to only be something that you might have attended in your late teens and early twenties, you can now bring the kids along and enjoy live music and entertainment while keeping in mind that it is something the kids will enjoy. Here are a couple of ones that you could attend in the North West of England.

• Just So Festival – based at Rode Hall in Cheshire, Just So Festival is very family-friendly where you can attend as a day guest or book for the whole weekend and camp. There is so much to see and do while you are there including live shows, music, and full-on entertainment to suit the whole family.
• Well-i-hole family festival – Based in the small village of Greenfield on the outskirts of Saddleworth this fun family festival takes place on farmland with lots of entertainment. There are campsites nearby if you wanted to make the most of it.
• Bluedot festival – Bluedot festival takes place at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire. With music and lots to see and do it is a great option to consider.
