Daytona Beach, is a city of about 73,000 residents in northern Florida on its Atlantic coast. In Volusia County, it is approximately 54 miles (86.9 km) northeast of Orlando, 93 miles (149.7 km) southeast of Jacksonville, and 272 miles (437.7 km) northwest of Miami. It is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach metropolitan area which has a population of about 600,000 and is also a principal city of the Fun Coast region of Florida.
Daytona Beach is historically known for its beach, where the hard-packed sand allows motorized vehicles on the beach in restricted areas. This hard-packed sand made Daytona Beach a mecca for motorsports, and the old Daytona Beach and Road Course hosted races for over 50 years. This was replaced in 1959 by Daytona International Speedway. The city is also the headquarters of NASCAR.
Daytona 500
One of the most exciting things in Daytona Beach is the Daytona 500. Many people flock to Daytona Beach each year to enjoy this Nascar event. This loop is 22 miles long and will give you a feel of Florida’s natural beauty. You can take your time while stopping to take pictures. You can visit Ormond Park and the Fairchild Oaktree, which is one of the oldest living oak trees in Florida. This activity is for a more laid-back day in Daytona Beach.

Ocean Walk Village
Maybe you are in the mood for a little shopping while you are in Daytona Beach. If this is the case then enjoy a day at Ocean Walk Village. This is an 110,000 square foot shopping and entertainment complex. Ocean Walk Village is four stories and offers two hotels, a state-of-the-art theatre, a water park, and the only beach that is traffic-free in Daytona. This is a great place to visit if you are looking to stay in one area all day and enjoy many different events.
Daytona Beach
If you just want to relax on the beach then do so on Daytona Beach. This is a world-famous 23-mile stretch of beach that many people visit each day. The beach allows vehicle traffic during daylight hours and just about any water sport you can imagine. Southeast Museum of Photography
You can visit the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach as well. This museum is located on the Daytona Beach Community College Campus. If you enjoy photography, then this is a great museum to visit. Exhibits change every few months and is home to some of the best photographic artwork from all corners of the world.
Flea and Farmers Market
Maybe you want to get some good deals and see what Daytona is all about. If so, then visit the Daytona Flea and Farmers Market. They are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all year round. This is one of the largest markets in the south and you can spend the whole day browsing for bargains without spending all your money. This is a great place to find souvenirs for all the people that you left at home.
Marine Science Center
Another great place to visit in Daytona Beach is the Marine Science Center. The home of this centre is a 5300 square foot facility and features habitat dioramas and interactive adventures. This is a great place to visit if you are interested in marine life and the natural world of Daytona. It is an educational place to visit while still allowing you to enjoy yourself.
Boardwalk Amusement Area
If you are looking for some good old fashioned fun then visit the Boardwalk Amusement Area located right on Daytona Beach. The Boardwalk offers arcades, shops, and amusements that stretch a quarter-mile into the beach. You can also enjoy one of the many restaurants or bars that are located right on the Boardwalk. This is a great thing to do at night when you can hear the ocean and the breeze is cool.
