Edinburgh Zoo

You can also check out the petting lodge where you and the kids can get up close to some of the best little animals including hamsters, guinea pigs and even a snake. There is also an on-site cafe servicing homecooked food. A great place to visit for the whole family to enjoy.

Arthurs Seat and Holyrood Park

Holyrood Park is the reason Edinburgh has its rugged skyline. With open and vast countryside with hills and crags, this is a great location to visit with the family if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without needing to go too far. Arthurs Seat is one of the four bigger peaks in Holyrood Park and is well worth climbing up if you are looking for something a little more active to do. Don’t forget to pack your picnic.

This is an intriguing attraction that will certainly be a great option for when the weather isn’t so great as it is indoors. Obscura meaning dark room essentially means that this attraction is all about the strange and the unique. This showcases some of Edinburgh’s finest moments and the world of illusions looks at different ways light can affect patterns and the way things look. It is certainly an interesting attraction. During the holidays you may find that there are activities and events taking place.

The Edinburgh dungeon

The Edinburgh Dungeon is another great attraction and with it being indoor you can rely upon it when the weather isn’t so good. You will head underground where live actors and interactive rides will take you on a journey of discovery through the dungeons of Edinburgh.
